The Mad River trip:  Had 16 camp Friday night. Saturday morning was another great SOFA breakfast, everyone pitched in. At shuttle time it looked like parade had 9 vehicles & a trailer. Had 39 paddlers ideal weather bright sun shine temp in the 80’s & a decent flow. Had our 1st swimmer at the put in, & with in the ½ mile we came upon a ripple that had a big rock at the bottom. Needles to say I am not sure how many went for a swim here. We had 1 that swam at the top & then the bottom, 1 hit the rock & just got out & sat on top of it, not sure how she did it. I did notice that everyone 1 of them quite paddling & let the water take them into the rock, NOT quite paddling when you come upon a stop like this. When we stopped for lunch everyone got dried out & was ready to go. As we went on down we can upon another ripple with a big tree at the bottom, we only had a few swim here but a lot of paddlers hit it & was able to come of it. As we went on down we had 1 more spot that got a couple more went swimming. We had a very eventful day.

At the take out 1 of our swimmers came up to me & said they had made a new best friend called PFD, they had it on, zipped up & realize how it help save them today.

Had 19 camp Saturday the weather was great, big almost full moon.

19 paddled on Sunday and no swimmers.

If you missed this trip you missed one of the best of the year. Thank you David

I have one thing to say about this group. Everyone pitches in when we are loading & unloading and if you need some thing & someone has it they will let you use it. If you every come out of your boat they will be there to help.
